Gaza city- IRADA program continue the efforts to activate the role of women with disability in the Palestinian community, where the program started the implementation of training course for them in embroidery. The training targets graduates with disability who succeeded in the carpentry course and became qualified to produce wooden and embroidery products. After the training, the trainees with disability will be able to make different products by their hand without any help from others.
The trainees expressed were motivated to learn. Haneen Abu Dan said: “I trained in carpentry of wood and embroidery gifts, and I participate in producing many beautiful products as frames, gifts boxes, mirror..etc. I was happy with my work. But I did not know how make the embroidery pieces so I joined the training to learn and become able to make the whole product as embroiderer and carpentry”.
While Gadeer Al Naimer expressed her happiness as she always wants to learn the embroidery work. From her side, kholoud shamali said, “I dream to open my own workshop someday. Now I am qualified to do the carpentry and embroidery work, and this feel me strong as I gained all the technical skills needs to work in this field”
