Delegation from OCHA Visit Irada Program

Gaza City – a delegation from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) visited Irada program. The delegation was led by Katleen Maes, the head of OCHA office in Gaza, and Hamada Al-Bayari, the humanitarian affairs officer.

Manal Hasna, Irada director deputy for fundraising and public relations, welcomed the visitors and took them on a tour of Irada’s facilities and training spaces, including the program’s permanent exhibition. She  briefed them on the quality of products made by beneficiaries as well as the impact of Irada’s training and rehabilitation.

The delegation praised the work of Irada as they were on the tour. “This work is very important and highly appreciated,” said Maes. “Irada is giving hope and expanding opportunity for people with disability.”

It is worth mentioning; In 2016, Irada launched a project to train 135 people with different levels of physical, visual or hearing impairment. This project followed the success through the past 4 years, during which 700 PwD’s graduated from the vocational and academic programs that proved valuable both in job competition and in private business management.
