Delegation from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) visited IRADA center. Ms. Veronique Hulmann headed the delegation, and Mr. Salah Hammad the representative of the United Nation Development Program accompanied the delegation. Welcoming visitors was the director deputy for fundraising & public relations Miss. Manal Hasna, and Mr. Tareq Al Habbash the director deputy for training.
Hasna welcomed the delegation and briefed on the progress in the Youth with disability Employment Generation project that implemented by IRADA with funding from the SDC, supervised by UNDP. Hasna thanked the SDC for their continued support for people with disability mentioning that 55 trainee with physical or hearing disability were selected. The training is in 5 vocation including electrical extensions, designing & printing techniques, wood carving, manufacturing aluminum products, and embroidery and accessories. Hasna talked about the expected results of the project that will contribute in developing the practical skills of people with disability and turning them to be productive ones.
During the visit; the delegation had a tour in the training workshops and appraised IRADA efforts. From their side, the trainees thanked the SDC for their support and providing them opportunity to access to the vocational training, hoping their employability will be enhanced after graduation.
